With the FracThunder you can create and change multiple fractals. All settings of the fractal is saves into ".ftf"-files, the bitmap itself is not saved.

You can create a new fractal, by pressing or choose in the menu:File | New fractal... A new Window is created displaying a quadratic julia fractal.

You can open an existing fractal, by pressing or choose in the menu:File | Open fractal... A new Window is created displaying a fractal using the setting of the file.

Select the Window containing a fractal to be saved.
To save the settings of the fractal into the opened file, press or choose in the menu:File | Save.
If there is no accocitated opened file of the Window, a dialog appears to specify a new or existing file.

To save the settings of the fractal into a new or existing file, press or choose in the menu:File | Save As....
A dialog appears to specify a new or existing file.

Select the Window containing a fractal.
You can save (export) the picture of the fractal into a bitmap file ".bmp"or ".tif".
Press or choose in the menu:File | Export to Bitmap File....
If ".bmp" is used, the background color of the fractal is included into the saved picture.
If ".tif" is used, the background color of the fractal is excluded into the saved picture, but the transperancy is used instead, so you can for example use Photoshop to merge the saved fractal with another picture.

Select the Window containing a fractal to duplicate.
Press or choose in the menu:File | Duplicate.
A new Window is created containing the same fractal.

Select the Window containing a fractal to duplicate.
Press or choose in the menu:Mode | Create Julia from Mandelbrot.
Click on a place on the fractal.
A new Window is created containing the accociated fractal. If the selected fractal is already a Julia fractal, the new fractal will be a duplicate of the selected fractal.
